Sliding hiatus hernia simulation a lung abscess

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of sliding hiatus hernia which was radiologically simulating a lung abscess was observed. This 63 year old female was admitted to this hospital with the chief complaints of left christ discomfertauh exertional dyspnea for about 10 years duration. She has not bean any traumatic history and physical effort before entry. The initial simple chest P-A and lateral film showed an-fluid level with a macular lesion in the left chest suggesting lung abscess. Esophagography revealed a sliding hiatus hernia of the stomach and esophagogastric junction into the left chest. The patient was explored
with a oblique posterolateral left thora-cotomy incision and received a corrective reduction and repair operation and sliding hiatus hernia was confirmed.
